Since our first inception of Broadway Branch, New York in 1984, Woori America Bank has grown to the largest Korean-American bank headquartered in the Northeast area, containing total 17 branches throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and California. As of June 30 2007, our total asset, customer deposit and loan volume are USD1075MM, 953MM, and 803MM, respectively, and we have been actively supporting for local Korean-American economy in the United States.
Woori America Bank, which is wholly-owned US subsidiary of Woori Bank, Korea, provides various fast-track banking services such as remittances, international trade finance and account opening services through established banking networks of Woori Bank, Korea over 1,000 in domestic Korea and 35 overseas branches in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam, etc. Furthermore, once current efforts to simultaneously open over 50 branches in China are completed in coming months, most of the our customers having business transactions with China will be substantially benefited from those enormous China banking networks.
We are opening our 18th branch office in Centreville, Virginia in coming October, and our enthusiasm to expand banking network will be continued in 2008 by opening another branches in California, New York, Georgia, and Virginia. Woori America Bank has been awarding its annual scholarships to selected students to accomplish its unchanged business slogan “Together With Customers”. In this year also, Woori America Bank Scholarship Foundation Inc. awarded USD120M to 60 outstanding students, and we will actively participate in Korean community services by establishing sisterhood relationships with local community service organizations.
